Welcome to Home Front Derby.
West Park Community School, Spondon, has received funding under the 'Home Front Recall Scheme' to produce an archive of peoples experiences in Derby during the Second World War.
We have been working closely with 'Spondon Historical Society' to gather and archive information about the Spondon area and would wish to widen further the area we are covering.
The only requirement is that experiences took place in Derby and the surrounding area between 1939 and 1945.
This site is still being developed, and is in the test phase.
Over the last few months we have recorded over 30 hours of interviews, we have included a small sample. We hope you find them as interesting as we do.
We would appreciate receiving details of your experiences during this time.
